Happy new year! Volatility is alive and well!

Let’s recap the first five days: the S&P 500 Index sold off 2.7% for the first three days and then surged 3.0% for the next two days.

Thanks for the advice, seems like a fairly low risk / low maintenance way to maintain a portfolio. I can’t wait to start investing, I just hope I don’t have to learn things the hard way.

Also, as a nimble programmer, I would love to take advantage of the volatility. How does one get into automated trading?
